Propeller Fence Questions

As soon as we posted the last post of our wicked new propeller for the upcoming non-stop flight attempt we started getting questions.  The questions revolve around the fence that Catto installed on the leading edge of the propeller.  It turns out it is so much cooler than just the fences.

Below are two pictures of the in flight propeller flow visualization system Catto has been using to test his fences.  It is a machined crank extension that holds a Go Pro camera which looks back at the blade face which is tufted, while in flight.

Yes that is the coolest thing you will see today.

We got our new high efficiency propeller from Catto.  This will help us on our nonstop trip to Oshkosh as part of Moventure.
